| Rodger; Point D makes a very good point, but I know of so many guys that have waisted more money and more time on their little side tracks that I don't feel bad at all. As for "too much of anything" it does keep the mfg. of kits on their toes. And makes them go out and try to find better examples or information on their next subject. Cause if you think about it for years not many complete AFVs of the WWII eara were made advailable . Russia is the best place that comes to my mind. Another example would be the AFV collector that is just down the road from where I live. Several people from Tamiya flew over from Japan to see his restored Pershing. And then they took pictures, measurements, and recorded the "cadie" turning over and runing it at different RPMs. Just to make their 1/16 kit the best that they could. And for your Shermans he has 2 or 3 and not one is the same as the other . He called it "field modifications". And most of his collection didn't exist thirty years ago. |
