| Subject: | First look : Real Model's M88A2 Hercules conversion (RM 35070). | |

Just got this conversion for the AFV Club M88A1 this morning.
I'll try posting a full review later but this is what you get in the
(big for a resin conversion) box.
Conversion is all resin VERY crisply moulded (think Verlinden),
excellent castings, very thin flash in upper hull openings.
You get a complete new upper hull, a new A-Frame (or boom whatever it's
called...). New armoured side skirts, new lower front hull cover, new
external winch plus a few detail parts.
Being at work I can't compare it to the excellent walkaround photos in
Military Machine n°3 , but I'll do that ASAP.
Overall the kit looks excellent, but again I will have to check accuracy
for a definitive statement.
The only think I don't like too much are some of the weld seams which
are a bit crude I think but these should be easily carved off and
replace with your own.
Instructions are minimalist : a parts list and a few photos of the
completed model to show where everything goes. I think getting the
aforementionned issue of Military Machine magazine is mandatory if you
want to build this conversion.
Cheers,
Christophe |
