Subject:  Why are we nit picking the DML Pz. IV E?List thread.

 Date:  Nov 3, 2005
 From:  Saul Garcia
The answer simply is because it is Dragon. Not to bash Dragon, not to diminish the effort they put forth. Some people believe this thread is anti-Dragon, nothing can be further from the truth.

It is because Dragon is a company with a track record of going to their molds and modifying them to improve accuracy. They tried to get it right, and for the most part...they have! Dragon accepted input from top modelers to help. Even these top modelers missed a few items. This oversights are what is being brought forth.

So every nit pick that is documented, as long as it is constructive, should be brought forth. BECAUSE IT IS DRAGON, I believe we will see an improved product in the future.

Had this kit been released by Tamiya (or any other company)....how long would we have to wait before these improvements would be made? Perhaps never?

My hats off to the nit pickers for seeing these details so many other eyes did not, and my sincerest respect for the company that I know is listening and will bring forth THE BEST kit ever in accuracy to match the outstanding value that the model already is.

If you look closely, many of these changes are not needed for the average modeler. For these people, enjoy the kit as it is. I am a rivet counter so I want to know what I need to modify, add, remove since it is part of my enjoyment. My meager input so far has been to contact some people with better references than most.

I write this since Kazutaka posted on another site that he will no longer continue to share his findings. Obviously, people are making him feel unwelcomed. I also get email from people afraid that Dragon will pull away from the model market. This makes no sense! As long as no one insults their effort, Dragon are getting superb information to improve.

So Dragon, some on in and let us know you are listening! We are not asking for excuses. Just let us thank you for what you provided and help you get the next one 99.99% right.

Regards,
Saúl García
