Not working for Fed Ex but dealing with enough over border packages.
It is not "their take". They are just retreiving the money for the government. They do still charge a "handling" fee for this service.
The post office does the same thing.
As a matter of fact. I received a package from Squadron a month ago and just got a letter from DHL stating I owe them for duty and taxes.
Funny, I thought I gave that to the post office when I picked up the parcel.
