I suspect the photo-etch engine screens would have been a seperate fret without Dragon cramming their boxes full of PE, metal barrels and other sales gimmicks followed by flashy ad campaigns. Ditto on the metal barrel.

The working suspension is a nice idea, thats for sure but without link-to-link tracks it might be a bit odd for those seaking to make it follow the form of a diorama base, but hey, its apparently given at no extra cost and we often throw in MK or Fruil tracks anyway so its a plus in my book.

$32 is a more than a fair price for this kit in my view and I applaud Tamiya for it! I like Tamiya a great deal and I still consider them a close second to Dragon (personal preference talking here.

If Tamiya can deliver their usual quality at competative prices like this as compared to some of their costlier releases with a few gimmicks, they will do just fine.

It does make me wonder if they didn't come to the realization that their pricing structure was raising a few eyebrows. Dragon jumped back in with all manner of extra and Trumpeter started dropping kits on us left and right, but Tamiya didn't exploit their moldsall that much and charged a fair amount more.

I hope this is a trend, I'd love to see Tamiya gear up and release some kits to counter the other big manufactures.

Asfor the fan issue, Tamiya was my first and will always be a part of my collecting. I may be an "alpha geek" but Tamiya kits are easy builds, very crisp and if you watch, a good bang for your buck.

I may bag on them a bit at times sas a business but I'm always happy to see when they send something our way, especailly if they keep this up, I'll certainly buy a lot more from them.
