Robert,

I've used both programs! Still use HMP and HMV. I play Btech about 8 times a year with a group that's been together for near 10 years. We play a progressive game that starts in the year 3045 with level 1 tech. Each battle is a year and we introduce new technology periodically.

Each of us is a mercenary unit and we have come up with various costs (logistics, repairs, new mechs, etc.) and ways to earn money (win conditions, kills, etc.). Our pilots all gains skill improvements and we upgrade our mechs (if we have the cash). We'll play with 4 mechs and unlimited reinforcements but with a mech weight limit on the board.

Its pretty intense since you know that a disaster in one battle will carry over for many battles afterward. Also, since we've been playing for so long, we don't take it personally so ruthlessness prevails. Get in trouble and you can count on everyone else coming after you! Total fun.

I too had about 600 painted minis. I sold some on eBay and did well. I found that selling them in logical groups (like a medium weight lance) ended up bringing more money that individually.

Also, I sold off all of my left over parts (arms, legs, etc) and got $80! I was totally shocked.
