Hello All,

This is the first time posting here as opposed to mainly reading and posting on ML (the underlying subject of this post).

I guess I must have been frequenting ML in another dimension because I don't see the same circumstantial evidence as put forth here. There are a few individuals that seem to wreck any forum because it is in their nature to do so and they don't represent any specific modeling group or nationality (it is rather absurd to pin such labels and such blame, and certainly no way to alleviate the situation). There has been a drop off in postings on the entire ML site due mainly to burn out and registration requirements resentment (in my opinion), and much more hostility in the ML Axis forum from too many volatile personalities clashing. I have always noticed a difference in the civility and attitude between the different forums there, and it is not due to any crossover or sabotage. It all started and ended in the same place, and unfortunately decreased the veteran input.

I honestly hope it is not the intention of anyone in any modeling forum to sponsor a secret forum. That would be the death knell for the hobby (the average age of modelers is getting older by the year which means little or no expansion into the younger or more novice population). What good is amassing so much expertise and knowledge without using it to help someone else learn? Eventually it would mean taking all of that to the grave and what fun or good would that be?

Best regards,

John Anderson
