It has the off center turret, too. Only the late kits by Tamiya do not.
Honestly, it is not that noticible, either, since it took people 50 years of
measuring to figure it out,
The wheel hubs are screwey in the Tamiya kit, but the kit overall is very
good. The Academy "early" is Tamiya's only real competitor. It is not a bad
kit, but is pretty much inferior in accuracy, molding, fit, etc. Most of the
details on the Academy kit are just better on the Tamiya one. Academy does
have a rudimentary interior, but it is very basic and simplified. Academy's
early tracks are nice, though. Good individual links as opposed to Tamiya's
molded vinyl tracks. You can buy the Academy tracks seperately, too, for
around $8 US.
If you don't want to go to too much work, just add the Tamiya p-e engine grills
or get an Eduard set with them and build the Tamiya kit OOTB. |
