| Subject: | Kits in 1/24 or 1/25 scale | |
| Date: | Feb 13, 2006 |
| From: | David Nickels | |
There have been a fair number of kits in 1/24 or 1/25 over the years, and some others that fall close...
Tamiya 1/25
Tiger I - fair kit with poor interior
Centurion III - nice kit with simple interior
Panther A - awful misproportioned, motorized kit
Jagdpanther - about like the Panther
T-34/85 - poor kit of a post-War tank (check out TL reviews)
SU-100 - similar to T-34
Chieftain - awful kit of first prototype
Way, way back, Tamiya did 1/21 tanks, and they did the 155mm Long Tom, M-40, Sherman, StuG III and Panzer III. These are really motorized toys. I sold a partly built StuG on eBay and a Jananese collector picked it up for over $600... ouch!
Academy sells crude copies of the Tamiya
Panther and Jagdpanther, along with their own late Panther G and Jagdpanther, based in part on the Tamiya suspension. Academy has a 1/25 civilianized GPA sold only in Korea
Kangam/Toy Star have copies of the T-34 and SU-100
Bandai
GMC Truck (very rare)
King Tiger Porsche Turret - nice kit with simple but decent interior
Panther G - same as Tiger
Jagdpanther - same as Tiger
M60 - awful, motorized kit
M60A1 - awful, motorized kit
Hasegawa
Jeep
Kubelwagen
Nitto
M29C Weasel (box says 1/35 but kit is 1/24) Reissued in the 90s by Bluetank |
