You may also consider 1/72 scale kits. They're a lot cheaper and easier to build. I built a couple as Christmas presents last year and I was really surprised by how fun they were. The DML or Trumpeter 1/72 scale Ferdinand should be fun kits to build. In 1/35 scale I second the Panther recommendation. I suggest the Tamiya Panther G Late, DML D, or DML A early. They're all great kits and they can all be built without zimmerit.
To get the best price try E-Bay. The way I bid on E-Bay is that I first figure out what the base price would be from my favorite discount internet store. I then find out the cost of shipping on the vehicle I'm biding on. The price I bid is: bid + shipping =or less than internet store base price. I loose several times before I win usually but I do eventually win. I have a nice collection of kits I've acquired at a very reasonable price ;-) |
