| Subject: | SAS jeep pics in the gallery | |
| Date: | Jun 1, 2001 |

"While I was scanning in these pictures I noticed that the owner of this
Jeep didn't do a true SAS Jeep as they should appear. There are several
problems. The most obvious are the lack of water condenser, intact engine
grill and of all things the intact windshield! There are a few details that
redeem the pictures, the K guns in particular are good."
These pics were made by me at the 1999 Beltring show with a borrowe camera.
I forgot to adjust the settings for the ASA of the film so these pics are
slightly over exposed.
The vehicle is actually Olive drab, but looks Sand yellow in the pics.
This vehicle is supposed to look like the early types of SAS jeeps used in
Central France just prior to and after D-Day.
The lacking water condensor is correct, and the armoured winshields were
also not installed by this time. I do think that there should be 2 large
fueltanks in the back instead of the rack with jerrycans.
BTW the K-guns were made of wood and plastic piping :O)
Cheers
