Paul,
since you are neck deep in the day to day posting of subjects you would certainly be aware of any mini trends. But if you look at the sheer number of WWII German vehicles posted they overwhelm every other category handily. The number of Tiger 1s alone is greater than many categories.I doubt this is a Track Link phenomenon as I have observed it on many other sites.I think over the years the manufacturers have too and that is reflected in the glut of German Kits, specificly Tigers and Panthers.I am happy for the glut but also want a corresponding Allied glut too.And Italian and Japanese and French ....
Perhaps the success of the German market has paid for the newer releases of the Allied vehicles,in much the same way a movie star will do a shoot em up action movie or two so they can then bankroll a more artsy movie.
Waaaay back in the 70s as a kid I never understood why you wouldn't want adversarial kits in your collection.Shermans need Mark IVs to shoot at, Panthers need T-34-85s and everybody needs troopers milling around smoking and pointing at stuff.
I was overjoyed when Dragon began their huge figure releases in the 90s-though mostly German they do still pop out some allied kits too.
I think with the number of new Model Companies each one is trying to find a share of the market pie and the German market is in danger of being over fished. So maybe its happy days for the Allied market,of course when the new M3 halftracks come out, there will be the obligatory parts and decals to convert it to German use.
thats my "I've been drinking coffee again" 2 cents worth
