Paul,
well you are right with the submissions. Of course you have the best overview on your site, so you can tell the trend of specific modellers and their submissions. As you say, that most if not all NGS (nonGermansubmissions) are old kits, it might be some clearing the stash for the new stuff actions...
I can see a little trend of the manufacturers, bringing new stuff, that is not yet released in injection or not state of the art.
like lee, comet, char I, T-38...
And of course the contest themes have an influence on subjects.
Pacific theme will probably bring lots of shermans, alligators etc.
In general i think most afv modelers are biased, having their big theme like me (german WW II afv) and not building much beside that. (I have one KV 85 from eastern express waiting for Friuls). So, Paul, if there is a trend to other subjects than Tigers i am happy for it.
But i guess, German WW II armor is still the most popular subject for whatever reason and German gallery submissions will raise when all those new kits are built by our modelers. I do not know why modelers allover the world like german armor so much.
