I'm curious about what makes folks buy different types of AM products. Is it a time saver, because they are 'better' than stock parts or because they're better than can be scratch built?
Not wanting to sound like a smart arse, but I'm guessing most of us could manufacture something akin to the Custom Dioramics base that sparked this thread, so I'd imagine that's purely a time saver, but what about things like soft stowage and cammo' nets, that can be simply home made to look much better than castings?
