Let me clarify what I was terming "comical". I wasn't at all saying the events portrayed to be comical. Just that the modelling execution if removed from the subject matter (of which is of course horrifying) was comic-like or toylike. The Hitler figure for example looks to me like a clown-like rendering of Hitler.

Figure painting to me is really difficult to pull off. And often it falls way short of being close to life-like or real to the point where they are very much like toys. But when it is really good it can be very inspiring and powerful.

My opinion.
