Tim, i understand what you're saying and a lot of it makes sense to me. i do think you might be over-analyzing the reasons we avoid gore in modeling, i dont think it has anything to do with placating women, although maybe that was a joke.

As for the lynching or baby being murdered, i mention those not as actual ideas i have, but as examples to see if and when fellow modelers would draw the line. I honestly dont think there is a tasteful way to make a diorama of a baby being murdered, and i seriously doubt anyone would applaud it as thought provoking, or justify it by saying "This really happened, you need to deal with that." A line up of Jews in front of a pit, with one dead body already in the pit?? and i'm assuming everyone else noticed that there's already a body in the hole. I'm sorry, its pointless to me, because i also assume that most fellow modelers are intimately aware of the history and tragedy of their subjects.

I'm not saying "Dont make it." Of course he can make anything he wants, and if i dont like it then i wont look. However, in my opinion its in bad taste, sorry.
