Subject:  What "New" kits have you built this year?List thread.

Good afternoon Gentlemen,

I was dusting off my collection last night and arranging my AFV's into category ( a weird thing I do) and noticed that most of the kits I have built so far this year are quite old and only two of them really would qualify as recntly "New". I thought this was kind of odd since I buy kits quite reguarly and I wonder why I've only built two new ones this year. Is it that I've chosen to build in the order I buy, is it that I dont find the new subjects exciting at the time or are we all just too buys with a massive backlog that we won't be building that new kit for a few years (!) and throw it in the stash?
For me I think I am a litle tentative in building my new Wonder kits from DML et al and prefer to hone techniques and scratchbuidling/adding details on the more disposable (cheaper!) models such as the older simple Tamiya kits, something I thoroughly enjoy. The DML Sdkfz 251 I built drove me nuts with the parts count although I was happy with the final result.I guess when I get a bit more confident in my abilites I will dive straight into a DML 88 or the latest and greatest marvel from Tamiya.
Does anyone ntoice something similar with their own builds? For the record this is what I have made so far this year. i consider myself an intermediate modeller with plenty of room for improvement!

Tamiya Flakvierling
Tmaiya Horch w/ 2cm Flak
Tamiya StuG IIIG (70's release)
Tamiya StUG IV
DML Sdkfz 251/1
Tamiya Kubelwagen
Trumpeter 1/72 JS-3
DML 1/72 Panther G
Tamiya Sdkfz 250/9
Italeri Panther A
Italeri SWS

Cheers
Steve
