Well,
i my eyes it is this:
if one makes a conversion for a specific model (for example Italeri SdKfz 234) of course it is ok to modify parts of that kit to produce the master of the new kit. Because so you get the best result in terms of fit and accuracy. And the initial manufacturer of the new model will sell another kit to complete the conversion to a model.
if one makes a conversion of a specific resin model of another manufacturer it would be the same thing.
but if he made a complete model using someone elses work, he should at least search the contact of the creator and talk about his plans.
There are some cooperations in modelbusiness i know of.
But some manufacturers are in war condition to others.
If it was me, i would go and completely and accurately rebuilt the parts i need from scratch. What would anyone do against this?
But again: what if the manufacturer of a kit is not on the market anymore?
regards
Frank |
