| Don't know about the Sherman turret, but Verlinden once offered a Sherman AMX conversion to do an Egyptian Sherman with the French oscillating turret from the AMX-13 tank. Verlinden's designer simply assembled a Heller AMX-13 turret, used it as a master and sold solid resin copies. Pretty nervy, particularly when it was the wrong version for that conversion anyway (wrong dust gasket around the the turret shell, and basically impossible to fix on a solid resin part). Don't know if Heller made any legal fuss about it or not. |
