Hi Saul,

I think that you are confusing two different Sherman turrets from Trakz. The turret that VLS was flamed over was the early Sherman turret by Ben Jakobsen, not the late Sherman turret by me.

The Trakz early turet was based on the Tamiya offering of the early turret. Tamiya's turret is the basis for resin releases from, Trakz, Legends, Formations, VP, and others.
But only Trakz was flamed for the practice, in fact Formations was "Cheered" for their casting of the Tamiya part.

Trakz release had been completely retextured and redetailed as had the others, but again it was Trakz that were unfairly singled out. Since the people who launched the attack on Trakz, were later shown to have ulterior motives, it all became clear, but it is true that there is often a real imbalance in this area.

As for the late Sherman turret that I mastered for VLS, I never saw any type of flame or even unfavorable review of that turret.

As for the working parts for the gun and trunions, I never intended for it to be a toy. Glue the parts in place, paint 'em and weather the kit and you have a great looking model of the turret. I am proud of the product, and have not seen a better late Sherman turret on the market yet.

As for the loaders hatch, the turret was originally designed to be used with the Italeri U.S. Marines M4A3, which comes with the loaders hatch already, so I did not need to include it when it was a Hard Corps Models release. When Trakz added the turret to their line, they should of included the loaders hatch, yes. But, hey nothings perfect, most modelers I know, who buy and build aftermarket items such as this just scratched one.

David
