Once you start looking at your own work on the computer screen, it certainly 'raises your game'. Faults that you miss with the naked eye show up like sore thumbs and I find I frequently go back and correct things after the first batch of pictures, so, photo's are better, plus hidden features, like interiors and engines can be preserved for posterity. I's true that any modeller will take photo's to show the good bits and hide the bad (common sense?), but that's not really much different to sticking a bit of stowage over a sink hole you missed is it?
