Yes Gazza, you are indeed correct. They aren't what they used to be. I've read several comments in newspapers, and on-line regarding good ol' Airfix/Humbrol. True, most of us bought those kits en masse back in the 60's & 70's; however, after reading all those nostalgic comments, I went downstairs to my hobby room to see how many unbuilt Airfix kits I had on my "self of doom". Do you know how many I had? Two..the Sopwith Pup and the Hanover. Both were WW I aircraft. The last kit I bought from them was the re-released M-4 Sherman (1/72)with the aftermarket "Crab" set. I found nothing worth keeping of the Sherman kit. So I paid about $4.50 for an after-market kit that I'll still have to make improvemnts on. No griping intended, but the sad fact remains, they got left behind.
