Resin companies will survive if they focus on correcting the anal-retentive type details that so many m odelers seem to diesire (me included). Much like the P.E. companies. As a matter of fact ompanies such as Aber, Lion Roar, Voyager and such that include both resin and P.E. (at a resonable price- pay attention Royal Model) will around for some time with the majopr model companies.

The only way that resin companies will remain around when it comes to full kits is by doing esitorical (spelled correctly?) subjects and to this point in time -softskins. DML seemed to endanger the resin companies with the esitorical stuff by doing the V-2, Maus and E-100. But that was 10 years ago or so and hasn't been touched since.

One final way that resin companies may stay alive is to do limited run super fine and accurate high-end kits that go way beyond what is available in plastic. Most modelers won't hoard the kits but if a particular subject appeals to them they may be willing to fork out the big bucks (or Euros) to have an ultimate kit of tier favorite subject.

My 1 1/2 cents worth (not rich enough to make it 2 cents)

Mike Bedard
