The "Recent Visitors" represents the number of unique people that have visited during the previous 24 hour period. You are only counted once during this period even if you visit several (or even hundreds) of times. These numbers are not artificially inflated, these are real people, not automated robots that index sites for Google, MSN, etc. since I block all of these things out.
So, looking now, 4074 modellers have visited this site in the past 24 hours.
