I have been in a slump now for almost a year... I do not let it bother me, as I still enjoy researching and looking at what other modelers have done. When the motivation comes back, so will I. It's a hobby, not a job, family, etc. Remember what is important (as my better half always reminds me). Previously, when I have been in a slump, something simple, OOTB usually works to get me back on course, like old Airfix kits, old Tamiya kits, or WWII Monogram aircraft kits from the seventies. I don't worry about anything while constructing it (extra detail, counting rivets, etc). Just building a kit utilizing basic skills. By the time I hit the painting stage, my motivation has returned and some of my best finishes are on those kits, as opposed to more costly and involved DML, newer Tamiya, Hasegawa kits. This is probably due to the fact that my motivation peaked at the finishing stage on those older kits rather than in the construction phase with the newer "super kits". Dont's worry about the slump; cruise the net and do some research into obscure subjects (World War II Hungarian Armor, a Panzer IV in Syrian markings, Kazakhstan T-72s, World War I Imperial Russian Aircraft, the possibilities are endless)... That also helps. The typical fare can also cause burn out

Been there,
Matt
