I was thinking of upgrading my photography equipment as at the moment I have a Nikon coolpix 5200 and I don't have any lighting at all.

I read on a model railway site about using two slave flashes triggered by the flash on a digital camera pointing upward
Anybody have knowledge of this method? or better still can recommend products

Also anybody recommend a camera that has contolable shutter speed as my pics seem to have a shallow focus range

feel free to offer any other tips for photography/lighting

thanks in advance
