Glenn, it depends on the company and the kit that is being produced. When I was in the industie we produced 5000 pcs at a time only. But I am sure Tamiya does produce a lot more or less depending on the kit. Some companies will only do 2500 kits, while others would do 10,000. You also have to take into consideration the boxing cost. It was not worth while for the company I worked for to produce less than 5000 boxes for one kit. This determined the amount of kits produced at any particular time.
