I ran across this place on my honeymoon in1996. I went there thinking
aircraft WWII which they have. I saw the only remaining bristol
beau-fighter flying around this old WWII air base for B-24's. I thought to
myself well you are really a military vehicle guy but that is pretty cool.
Then I noticed military vehicles building on the map of the grounds oh, and
what was that by that hanger over there, why it looks like a ward lafrance
wrecker. Suddenly I was worried if had used up my new brides patience on
airplanes. The Horror! So we take this trolley thing across the airbase, I
walk in and wow what a nice collection, awesome stuff. Then I run into this
old english man, "oh I was a Firefly driver" and he layed a couple stories
on me. This Duxford was quite a surprise and great memory. And later I
talked her into a pilgrimage to Bovington to boot.
