Hi...

The local AMPS chapter I belong to meets in a local hobby shop once a month. No charge.
The owner never complains about how poor business is.
I make it a point to buy something (a book, a kit, supplies) every month at the meeting, as a way of thanking him for letting us use his store.
He will order anything I ask him to get. I usually order something about every other month, I could order it myself over the internet, but it helps support the shop if he orders it. Many times he charges me less than the price at some internet shops with no additional shipping charge.

When I stop by to pick something up on non-club nights, he invariably charges me less than the sticker price. He also gives me coupons for discounts, especially when I buy things for my son's HO train layout.
He knows kids are his future customers.

Bottom line: Support your local hobby shop! We need to keep them in business for the future generations.
