Hi Saul,
I have been thinking the very same thing.
I tend to think if the 1:35 boat/helo etc. spends most of its life in close co-operation with ground troops and vehicles then the crossover is less blurred and its inclusion is warranted.
Things like the 1:35 Elco PT boat with the array of weapons usually associated with vehicles made that choice for inclusion easier.
From a personal viewpoint, time and the budget exclude pure combat aircraft and other scales other than 1:35, 1:48.
