The answer is TOO long!
And kits are getting more complex and time consuming all the time, with the addition of p/e and indi tracklinks etc etc.
Like others I find I am losing that initial buzz to build a particular kit around week six, or I get distracted by all these sexy new offerings from Dragon, Tasca, AFV, and shelf another project, [temporarily, you understand!]
So I have made myself a pledge to stick to PLASTIC modelling from now on- no etch, no white metal sprockets, no replacement resin, and maybe I will actually finish something. Yes, an OOB build will have some inherant innaccuracies- but it will look more like the vehicle it is meant to be than those piles of half built plastic, resin and brass hulls that are beginning to oppress me.
I have to be honest with myself and say if it can't be completed in six to eight weeks it probably never will be
Steve
