I usually follow this general path toward my next project...

1.Find an interesting subject, usually from one of my reference books.
2.Get a kit, either from stash or, better yet, buy a new kit.
3.Collect a bunch of after-market stuff to really dress up the build.
4.Start by building up the lower hull, then the upper hull and lastly the turret.
5. Get distracted by another new kit or get frustrated by some meaningless little detail that nobody else will ever notice anyway.
6.Find an interesting subject, usually from one of my reference books.
7. Repeat, ad infinitum...

While this process, by definition, doesn't allow for actually finishing a kit, it does keep me off the streets at night.
