I have several boxes of left over parts from 20 years (plus) of tank models kits. It's getting to the point were it takes me hours to find a specific part that I know I have... somewhere.
The problem arose because when I finished a kit I'd just clip off the leftovers and drop them into one box. This is not a very satisfactory state of affairs. I do keep figures in a separate box, photo-etched frets in another, etc.
Is there a better way? What I need are many smaller boxes maybe? I have started using plastic Sandwich boxes now and placing common parts in them, Sherman bogies in one, jerry cans in another, etc. But I'm going to end up having hundreds of sandwich boxes!
I don't want to keep the empty kit boxes with just the empty sprues and few remaining parts.. I know some modellers do this however.
Any ideas? What do you guys do?
