free kits got involved.
You are not the first, and hopefully will not be the last, to voice another opinion. However, an opinion is what a review ultimately is, a personal opinion.
You stated something completely false in your initial post. There is no shame in admitting an assembly mistake. Yet it is quite foolish to be in denial of it when it is clear to others. I did take you up on your offer to contact your friend (who, on his request, I had to remove his email address). He mentions he did not see anything done wrong but he could not be sure.
I have the kit in question and could have easily done what Pat of Tristar did, photograph a dry fit. Heck, I can even make a movie to see who is to blame for the poor fit.
Not knowing what Tristar would do, Paul and I discussed replacing your kit. As I spoke with your friend, it was to be for you to dry fit it before your club members and allowing him to take photos (Since you admit your photography skills with your camera are lacking). So you have accepted the kit(s), good for you! Now I hope whoever in your club receives it/them will live up to the caveat and photograph a dry fit.
The idea is that by the end of this long thread, a reader see a result of what or who was to blame. In other words, is the kit as bad as posted or was it an honest mistake that now all readers will be aware of. Either way, it ultimately benefits the general population of modelers (who are the only ones I care about).
