Well, most weathering is done with the wheels and tracks in place, anyway. You can use any technique you like--personally, I like artists' watercolors, as they are very forgiving. If you're worried about ruining the finish--you can wash off anything you don't like and start over. It's very good for muddy finishes. Seal with clear flat once it looks the way you want it to.
Or you can airbrush all the dusty finishes you like, and follow up with pin washes and dry brushing. |
