Mike,
Like every other hobby, people model for their own reasons. For me, military modeling is about the history. Military models (armor, aircraft, ships, etc.) is a natural extension of the history that you can hold in your hand. One of my uncles was killed 6 June 1944 at Omaha Beach, but rather than being repulsed by everything German, I find the history fascinating to try to learn everything I can about what they were doing to defend that beach. Though I've build models of WW II from start to finish, my favorite timeframe is the summer and fall of 1944, specifically France.

I rarely post my models on Track-Link because I don't build models for other people. I do like seeing and reading about the work of others, but my motivation is different.

I don't think your train car idea is anymore offensive than the artwork, some of it by the death camp survivors themselves, that portrays the horror they experienced. You are not praising the work of the Nazis or mocking their victims. Like their artwork, your models represent a moment in time. It's a portrait of history, but your art is plastic not canvas.
