If that's the sort of thing you're interested in, sure.

If I understand your point correctly, what you're objecting to is a review that says "This new Sherman kit is more accurate than the old Sherman kit made by a different company, so this is a better kit" without saying *why* it's more accurate -- or to put it another way, you're objecting to a bad review.

Certainly bad reviews should be objected to, whether they invoke "comparisons" or not.

I don't think my point was "over-complicated" -- I don't think that you articulated your original point very well. What you're talking about is not what I think most people would call a "comparison review".

In general terms, however, when multiple kits of the same subject exist in the marketplace, I don't see how it can hurt anyone to be told which of them are most accurate and/or easiest to build and/or best value for money or whatever. Different people look for different things when buying kits -- I would not be surprised, for instance, to discover that many people prefer "fewer parts and easier builds" to "accuracy".
