Dear Paul, dear fellow modelers

I would like to throw in the count Tamiyas's French Armored Carrier UE (don't chop off my head, please!). I give you the reasons for this rather unspectacular choice: The UE reminds me of the days I liked Tamiya most. I always loved particulary the smaller kits like the Sdkfz 222 or 223, all the Krupp Protzes, the Horchs, the Bren Gun Carriers, the Stuart Tanks and later the M8/M20 etc. The UE catches up with this tradition and pushes new hope for subjects like the a Vickers VI Tank or Rolls Royce Armoured Car (sigh ...), something Tamiya really should do regarding their long held affection towards the African campaign 1940 to 43. I already see the box art before my eyes.

Another reason for this choice is the inclusion of the french WWII soldiers (followed by a whole new set of this long overdue figure subject). I never understood why such fantastic WWII figure subjects like Dutch (great helmets!), Norvegian, Belgium or even Swiss (great helmets, also) soldiers have been ignored to this day by Tamiya and all the other injection big shots. But now with the french Poilus a giant leap is done. Therefore ... the Renault UE.

Actually, does anybody keep count? Paul, who decides finally which company gets the 10 million Dollar (at least) TL-award for the Kit of the Year 2007?
