Go to Halfords they do Acrylic and Cellulose.
Cellulose works best for figures I find. I prime in Cellulose and they use
the Valejo acrylics thinned to a wash with Halfords screenwash to do a base
coat, as it's thinned down it seems to 'seep' into the cellulose and give a
nice even coat, as it's thin it puts some basic shade onto the figure
straight away. Use Cork as an undercoat for flesh. For the actual colour I
use oils. I got this basecoating technique from Roy Hunt. he is a member of
our club and a Gold Medal winning figure painter at Euro as well as being a
manufacturer of Flats. |
