Paul,
you mentioned him just the other day,but I think Sheppard Paine's
Monogram Diorama pamphlets were a real milestone in the hobby.
His presentation and "how to" notes realy sparked an entire generation of young boys who are still building today.
Monogram's wise inclusion of extras and options were a big selling point for me.
This is what turned me from Aurora Monsters and Cars straight to Armor and Dioramas.
I'm sure there are many more legitimate markers but,Shep Paine was the "moment" for me.
