I guess it would count as a kit, but a few years ago Santa gave me Tamiya's 1/16th scale King Tiger. Add on the cost the RC equipments and batteries, it was a spendy little (not) kit. Plus, I had to totally rethinking my buying habits regarding supplies. One jar of German dark yellow? No, think big. Still, it was a fun diversion from more obsessive builds and it positively can terrorize the hell out of the two normally fearless Pomeranian that prowl out hallways.
