Roy,

One way to look at it is that it's actually a lot cheaper than many other hobbies.

Take my example above. I spent around $400 and it took me at least 200 hours to build the Liberation diorama. So that's $2/hr.

Go to the movies. A 2 hr (if your lucky) movie is $10. So that's $5/hr.

Golf. Well out here in SoCal green fees can be $100. Say you play for 4 hrs. That's $25/hr.

I don't know how long it will take Paul to build his Panzer IIIJ but I think it's a failr bet that it'll take him longer to use all the aftermarket items than just build the kit OOTB. For a best guess, let's say it takes him 50 hours (I'll bet it's actually quite a bit more). At $224 in cost that's still only $4.50/hr. Less than a movie and I'll argue quite a bit more satisfying.

Just another perspective.

Jim
