I used a tube of plastic putty, it is soluble in liquid cement. I mixed it
down to a brushable consistancy and painted it onto small areas, after 20 -
30 seconds it formed a skin and then I pressed the pattern into it. As it
was painted on with a small brush I could control the application quite
well.
You can only apply to a small area at a time though.
I think the putty was called 'Plasto' It's all gone now but any product
would do I guess as long as it's soluble in the liquid cement. I use a
product called 'Mekpak" (It doesn't contain any actual MEK).
