A base adds interest, helps explaining the model (the idiom a street sign is written in allows
the viewer to place the situation), and allows it to be handled safely.
That said, I must admit that not all of my tanks do have bases! (Do as I say...) However, all of
my figures do have some kind of base; it's practically impossible to handle them without
breaking anything.
