I think it depends what you mean by "correction". If it's an error that MUST be corrected to produce an accurate rendition, I'd be surprised if it were welcomed. I know the old adage is that there's no such thing as bad publicity, but some of the treatment that even the most trivial errors attract must make manufacturers wish they'd stuck with flowerpots. Speaking for myself, I can live with small errors, as I know the square root of chuff all about the correct spacing of bolts on a mantlet. But if it's, like, too many wheels, or an upside-down gun, or missing track pads, I tend to avoid it like the plague. (Nonetheless I harbour a sneaking suspicion that some errors are a conspiracy between the primary manufacturer and the after-market - "if we make this mistake and you do a correction set, we'll both clean up". But mostly I subscribe to the cock-up theory of history, not the conspiracy theory.)
But if you mean something that's less than perfect because of the limitations of moulding technology, that's different. It's a chance to take a kit beyond what's provided and really do a number on it. As my skills fall miles short of that, I don't do it myself, but I imagine it must be much more welcome in the market. Someone who sells a "good starting point" or "fine out of the box" will hopefully do better than someone who sells "looks approximately like the real thing if the light's dim".
