James,

I respect your opinions, and agree - though partly - with your statement. We have to be fair, and in this perspective, other manufacturers also deserve criticism. However, as David pointed out, no other self-proclaimed "world-class" manufacturer has systematically released such poor-to-bad kits as Academy.

Of course, AFV Club did mess up on the M36, but sure as hell made up for it with the Stryker series, the Centurions and the M5A1! Tamiya also deserves criticism for re-releasing old, outdated kits over and over, yet its "real" new releases are top notch models that keep modelers asking for more.

By comparison, the last kit released by Academy that may be considered "excellent" was the M12. Every new kit since that one has been plagued with major, inexcusable flaws, many of which could easily have been avoided or fixed. As for the M10, I strongly disagree with you here, as I hardly consider the inclusion of a rather complete interior enough to make up for the kit's dimensional/shape issues.

For what it's worth,

Charby
