Glenn,
I do both. I find that clear photos in print are easier for me to study than on line. It's a physical thing (or maybe mental). Viewing screens, especially intently literally gives me a headache. I also like the 'feel' of a book, something I can hold.
The net has given me access to reference that I would usually not be able to get. It is also more instantaneous. This is especially useful when stuck in the middle of a project.
I really like sites like Paul's here too. You get to see a wide range of modelers and models whereas print is more selective.
I do worry about the cost aspect. Even though the net seems 'free' you still have to pay access. Some of the best modelers may not publish on line because they don't get any finances for all their time and skill which may restrict seeing their work.
I still purchase FSM, AFV Modeler, Military Modelcraft International, Model Military International and Military Modeller (at least when I get my subscription straightened out).
