Glenn,
i only buy stuff i really want. Earlier i used to buy all german magazines but now i donīt. One reason is that i am expierienced enough to deal with most problems and if not i have the world wide web to get help and info on great sites like this one. One reason is that the magazines most time only have one suitable subject i am interested in.
Another one is increasing prices: i get two tins of paint (at least) for one magazine.
If my output of models was higher, i would submit them but i hardly find time to model most times so if i like to see my models published i go to the net and can see them instantly. And if i publish i have to declare the income on my tax report and might have to pay tax.
