My magazine subscriptions having been dropping off like crazy lately. I still get Model Military (the Tamiya Modelling Magazine spin off) and AFV Modeler. Both now have a mix of models and reference photos so they are really useful.

I used to love MMiR when it was coming out regularily. If it gets back to a quarterly schedule I'll consider buying it again. But I bought a 4 issue subscription at the 2006 AMPS Nationals and still have only gotten 1 issue! Some serious confidence building will be necessary before I subscribe again.

I also loved Xtreme Modelling but the cost has gotten quite high, about $17/issue so I'll have to look through the issues before I buy one.

And I'm letting go of FSM and Tamiya Modelling. I find I'm not that interested in the more general modeling coverage (cars, planes, ships, etc.) so I really don't read them as thoroughly as I used to. Plus, the IPMS Jouranl has really stepped up lately and fills that role nicely.

But I still buy some books. Mainly they're specific reference books (i.e. for a Panzer III or an M1 Abrams). But I am addicted to the Concord series which seems to be a great value for the money. So many photos for $20!

Jim
