I visited a few of these museums in Europe.
Saumur Museum was probably the most impressive, but the Munster Panzer Museum is quite impressive too. The museums in Normandy are very interesting - in Falaise for example, and all these shot Sherman tanks left alone in the fields, nowadays preserved as monuments. I suggest you visit Technische museum in Sinsheim, Germany, wehere they have a wonderful HUGE collection of automobiles from the 1920's and 1930's(including the ones used by the highest nazi leaders) but you can also rotate the turret of the Panther and see the chassis of Sd.Kfz 251 running (just insert an Euro coin in the slot and off it goes). My wish list - Bovington and Kubinka, the USA museums are out of range for the time being. Regards, Piotr Wit |
